Dr Abubacarr Jah was invited by Bansang General Hospital management to perform much-needed surgeries.
Among the cases done were:
1. 10 patients had access to a urology consultation
2. Our sonographers were trained how to do urology scans
3. Our radiographers were trained on how to do urethrogram
4. three prostatectomies were also done
5. One urethroplasty case was done- who had a suprapubic catheter for 8 years and today he is relieved
6. One bilateral orchidectomy
7. One suprapubic cystostomy
8. Our nurses also had a refresher training on the WHO surgical checklist
Dr Abubacarr Jah commented: “It was a great experience. Thanks to the CEO Dr Masirending Njie for facilitating. The theater staff in Bansang are hardworking and dedicated. I feel happy for one of the patients who had a tube through his tummy into his bladder to drain his urine for 7 years while waiting for such an intervention which the team successfully did changing his life. This was amazing”
